24 year old Meikel (Max Riemelt) has to leave his best friend Björn (Maximilian Simonischek) behind on the Maldives at the end of their holidays. Freedom-loving Björn has decided not to return to everyday life.

Back home, Meikel notices that something must have happened during his absence of which his family can’t talk about. They advise him not to push his friend to return from the Maldives. Meikel’s curiosity is aroused and he does utmost to unravel the dark secret surrounding Björn’s stay on the Maldives. The more he understands the more aware he is that it is not Björn he has to save but himself.
